McCracken County Dog License
Pursuant to Senate Bill
133 of the 2004 General Assembly amended KRS 258, counties are allow
to establish animal licensing and control programs. McCracken
County Ordinance No. 2005-14, an ordinance establishing minimum
animal control and licensing requirements, was adopted by the McCracken
County Fiscal Court on October 24, 2005. Section III of this
ordinance states "The owner of all dogs over the
age of four (4) months or those who harbor or maintain dogs in the
county shall license and register their dog(s) with Animal Control,
in accordance with regulations established by Fiscal Court." A dog license may be obtained at the Deputy Judge's office
located at the McCracken County Courthouse and at the following
veterinarian clinics:

The cost is $3.00. The
rabies vaccination certificate must be presented at the time of
purchase. Some veterinarians may charge an additional handling fee.
The license will expire one year from the date of purchase..
