Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T)

The CERT training is an innovative approach to Emergency Preparedness. It trains everyday citizens how to respond to disasters and large emergencies.

It's training that citizens can use before the responders arrive.

In the CERT program:

You'll be taught Basic Light Search & Rescue, Basic Disaster Fire Fighting, Disaster First Aid, Disaster Psychology, and Disaster Preparedness.

The CERT program is seven, three hour classes taught one night a week.

The CERT training is a vital part of President Bush's Citizen Corps Homeland Security plan.

The program was developed by the Los Angeles Emergency Services and Fire Department and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. We have six FEMA certified CERT instructors.

A new CERT class with the additional Homeland Security module is in the works.
