Community Invited to Celebrate Signing of Outdoor Sports Complex Agreement

The McCracken County Fiscal Court, Paducah Board of Commissioners, and McCracken County Sports Tourism Commission are holding a meeting on Wednesday, September 7 at 3 p.m. at the Julian Carroll Convention Center to approve and sign the interlocal cooperation agreement for the outdoor sports complex.

To celebrate the significant milestone in the development of the outdoor sports complex, the McCracken County Fiscal Court, Paducah Board of Commissioners, and McCracken County Sports Tourism Commission are holding a meeting on Wednesday, September 7 at 3 p.m. at the Julian Carroll Convention Center.  The community is invited to attend and celebrate the approval and signing of the interlocal cooperation agreement for this transformative project.

The outdoor sports complex, also called Greenway Sports, will be constructed off Park Avenue in Paducah at the former Bluegrass Downs horse track complex and Stuart Nelson Park. The project includes a revitalization of the former track grandstand, six full-size soccer fields, softball fields, six baseball diamonds, and many other amenities including the rehabilitation of Stuart Nelson Park Road.  The project also will honor the legacy and achievements of Dr. William Stuart Nelson.
