Mayor Brandi Harless is scheduling Neighborhood Walk events. The walks allow Mayor Harless and a Commissioner to walk in a neighborhood while meeting with the residents in a casual atmosphere. For 2019, there will be walks on select Mondays at 6 p.m. Meet at the location identified below to talk about neighborhood beautification, parks, safety, streets, sidewalks, and other ideas.
May 13: Midtown Area - Keiler Park/Carson Park - meet at Keiler Park playground - Commissioner Brenda McElroy attended.
May 20: Midtown Area - Wallace Park - meet at Independence Park - Commissioner Sandra Wilson attended.
June 3: Midtown Area - Cruse Avenue/Clayshire - meet at Salvation Army Community Center (2990 Trimble Street)
June 10: Uppertown/Jetton - meet at Coleman Park - Commissioner Brenda McElroy attended.
June 17: Farley Place/Kolb Park/Ella Munal - meet at Kolb Park
June 24: Northside - meet at City of Paducah Public Works Facility (1120 North 10th Street)
July 1: Rowlandtown/Glendale - meet at Parks & Recreation Department (1400 H.C. Mathis Drive)
July 8: West End Area - Country Club/Valley Rd - meet in back parking lot of Immanuel Baptist Church
July 15: West End Area - Woodlawn/Heather Hills - meet at Friedman Lane entrance of Heather Hills (park along Savoy Circle near Friedman Lane)
July 22: West End Area- Pines/Fairfield - meet at Whitney Drive off of Pines Road (this is the Pines Road entrance of The Pines) - Commissioner Sandra Wilson plans to attend.
July 29: West End Area - Conrad Heights - meet at John A. Williams Park on Technology Drive - Commissioner Sandra Wilson and Commissioner Brenda McElroy plan to attend. Mayor Harless will be unavailable on that evening.
August 5: Dolly McNutt Court - meet in the parking lot at Hayes Auto ZBody Supplies (2420 Bridge Street)
August 12: Littleville - meet at Preferred Industries/CMI (660 Chester Hack Drive). Refreshments will be at Grace Baptist Church (1625 Bloom Avenue).
August 19: Lowertown - meet at Texaco Station (corner of 7th and Madison streets)
August 26: Dollartown - meet at Cole Lumber (1035 Division Street)
September 9: Downtown - meet at downtown Gazebo (133 Broadway Street) (Note: Walk will begin at 7 p.m. due to a City Commission meeting that evening at 5 p.m.)
September 16: Guthrie/Tilghman - meet Albert Jones Park (855 Joe Bryan Drive)
September 23: Frenchtown/Fountain Avenue - meet at Lang Park (350 Fountain Avenue)
September 30: River Oaks - meet at former Martha's Vineyard building (900 North 32nd Street)
October 7: Shawnee - meeting place TBA
