Curbside Recycling Collection Moved to Tuesday Due to 2018 Memorial Day Holiday

Below are the changes to the Engineering-Public Works Department’s schedule for the Memorial Day holiday.                                       

  • Curbside Recycling:  City crews will collect recyclables Tuesday, May 29 for Paducah households that have recyclables collected curbside on the second and fourth Mondays of the month.  There will not be a collection on Memorial Day, May 28   
  • Compost Facility:  The Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street is closed Monday, May 28.  The facility’s normal schedule is Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m.  When fully stocked with materials, the Facility has wood chips and compost available for purchase by the bucket load.  An approximately two yard bucket load of wood chips is $10 while the compost costs $20. 
  • Trash Collection:  The trash collection schedule will NOT change for the Memorial Day week.
  • Freedom Waste Recycling Drop-Off Facility:  The recycling drop-off facility operated by Freedom Waste located at 400 State Street is open Memorial Day.  The facility is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.  As part of the contract between the City of Paducah and Freedom Waste, there is no charge for the general public to drop off recyclables.
