To improve the safety and drainage along Elmdale Road adjacent to St. Mary Middle/High School, Elmdale Road will be reduced to one lane beginning Monday, July 17. This project will last approximately one week.
The work will be on Elmdale from the school’s entrance to approximately 100 feet south of the entrance. A contractor will be improving the drainage along the edge of Elmdale to eliminate the erosion that has been occurring near the entrance to the school.
Storm Water & Drainage Engineer Eric Hickman says, “This project improves the drainage system along Elmdale Road and protects the integrity of the road.”
The project involves the realignment of the drainage ditch away from the edge of Elmdale Road in addition to the installation of a new headwall, junction box, piping, and rip-rap.
Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices. The City of Paducah maintains approximately 220 miles of streets. If you have a question, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at 270-444-8511.
