To enhance pedestrian and vehicular safety, the intersection of South 9th and Clark Streets in Paducah will become a four-way stop effective Monday, November 6.  The signs have been installed and are covered until that date.

Currently, the intersection has stop signs for traffic on Clark Street with no stop signs for traffic on South 9th Street.

In addition to converting the intersection to a four-way stop, crosswalks and curbside parking restriction signage have been installed.

City Engineer & Public Works Director Rick Murphy says, “This change matches the configuration one block away at South 9th and Washington Streets.  This area sees significant pedestrian and vehicular traffic due to the residents and visitors of the neighboring Jackson House Apartments.  Having both intersections function identically improves the safety for pedestrian and vehicular traffic.”
