Assistant Chief Danny Carroll is a 23-year veteran of the Paducah Police Department.  During his career, he has served as a patrol officer, crime prevention/public relations officer, detective, detective sergeant, detective captain, patrol captain, and administrative captain.  In August of 2005, he was promoted to Assistant Chief.  Following his promotion, he served as Assistant Chief over the Administrative Services Division.  In June of 2007, he transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division, where he served until January 2010. 

Assistant Chief Carroll holds a bachelors degree from Murray State University and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy (NA).  In 1996, he had the honor of serving on the United States Olympic Security Team in Atlanta, Georgia.  In 1997, he was named Fraternal Order of Police Officer of the Year, and in 1998 he received a Chief's Award for an "Exceptional High Degree of Dedication and Professionalism." 

Assistant Chief Carroll is an alumnus of Leadership Paducah, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #15, the Paducah Lions Club, the Briensburg Masonic Lodge, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police, the Paducah/McCracken County Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Council, and the FBI National Academy Associates.  He is a past president of the Child Watch Children's Advocacy Center Board of Directors and the Paducah/McCracken County Drug Education Council.
