The Paducah Human Rights Commission (PHRC) helps ensure that Paducah residents and visitors maintain the right to live and work as equal partners in our community. Never should anyone discriminate - or be discriminated against - because of race, color, religion, national origin, age (between 40-70), or disability. Sadly, unfortunate incidents do occur, even in a progressive city such as ours. If you experience discrimination or humiliation because someone has violated your human rights, the City of Paducah wants to know about it, and the Paducah Human Rights Commission wants to help.

Invitation to Serve as a Commissioner
The Paducah Human Rights Commission is a volunteer board. When there are board vacancies, Mayor Gayle Kaler and Chairperson Bernice Belt will conduct interviews, if needed. Recommendations are then made to the City Commission for vote. The board meets on the first Monday of each month at 3 p.m. at City Hall. The meetings are structured and purposeful with respect given to each Commissioner's time and responsibilities. A training workshop will be conducted for all new Paducah Human Rights Commission board members. If you would like to serve as a Paducah Human Rights Commissioner, please provide the following items to the contact address below:
- A one page updated biography;
- A one page cover letter about why you are interested in becoming a member; and
- The names and current contact information of two local references.
