Sandy Joslyn was sworn in as Interim Police Chief by McCracken Circuit Judge Jeff Hines on August 7, 2008. Chief Joslyn is a 25-year veteran of the Paducah Police Department. She graduated from Murray State University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in criminology, corrections, and rehabilitation. Throughout her career she has received numerous awards, such as the "Award for Outstanding Service," "Police Officer of the Year," "Women of Achievement Award," the "Chief's Award", and she was named "Employee of the Year" for 2004.
Prior to retirement, she was involved in several organizations in the community, including the Kentucky Women's Law Enforcement Network, Women Aware, the McCracken County Domestic Violence Task Force, the McCracken County Sexual Assault Response Team Task Force, and the Paducah-McCracken County Drug Council.
