2015 Veterans Day Parade Information

All of the events below to honor veterans will be held on Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015. For more information about the Veterans Day Parade or related activities, visit the Parks Services Department at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive or call 270-444-8508.
Veterans Day Parade Opening Ceremony:
The Paducah Park Services Department and the Veterans Day Planning Committee invite the public to attend the Veterans Day Parade Opening Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the gazebo at 2nd and Broadway.
The opening ceremony includes the recognition of the 2015 Distinguished Veteran who will serve as the parade’s grand marshal. The ceremony also includes the naming of the non-veteran who will receive the 2015 Patriot Award, an award honoring a citizen who dedicates his or her time to serving veterans and veteran causes in this community. The winners of the Veterans Day Essay contest organized by the Daughters of the American Revolution will be introduced, and the first place winners will read their essays for the crowd.
Veterans Day Parade:
The annual Paducah Veterans Day Parade will begin at 11 a.m. at 2nd and Broadway and travel along Broadway to 17th Street. The WKCTC Television Production Department will record the parade (weather-permitting), set it to music, and televise it at a later time on Government 11 and Paducah-2 (for Comcast subscribers).
Parade Entry Forms: Late entries will not be accepted or permitted to participate in the parade. Parade Entry Forms must be received by Friday, October 23 at 5 p.m. and can be delivered, faxed (270-444-8627), or mailed to

Veterans Day Ceremony at McCracken County Courthouse:
Note: This event has not been confirmed yet. The 2015 Veterans Day Ceremony at the McCracken County Courthouse will be held at the Veterans Monument at 2:30 p.m. The monument is on the Washington Street side of the Courthouse.
Veterans Day Concert:
Note: This event has not been confirmed yet. The Veterans Day Concert will be held at the Robert Cherry Civic Center located at 2701 Park Avenue at 7 p.m. The Paducah Community Band under the direction of Douglas Van Fleet will provide a musical tribute to our local veterans and current service members. The concert is open to the public at no charge.
