Paducah Parks & Recreation is proud to offer REC Way Basketball league for boys and girls in the community. REC Way Basketball is a non-competitive basketball league for boys and girls from PreK - 5th Grade. Practices and games are held at the Paducah Recreation Center at 1527 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The goals of REC Way Basketball is to teach kids the basic fundamentals, skills, and rules of basketball. Games are in January and February on Saturdays for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Weekly practices will be held in addition to games.
PreK students will have a 30-minute practice followed by a 30-minute game on Monday evenings. PreK is for ages 3-5 who are not yet enrolled in kindergarten.
Players will be assigned teams and are provided a t-shirt uniform for games.
Coaches are volunteers so we ask all parents to consider helping to coach.
REC Way Basketball is for boys and girls in PreK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 5th Grade. Grades and genders may be combined to form divisions based on registration numbers. For PreK, players must be 3 or 4 years old at the time of the aging date on January 3, 2023.
Coaches are volunteer parents. Players should wear their own shorts, tennis shoes, and bring a water bottle. The league will provide t-shirt uniforms, basketballs, and all other equipment needed for games and practices.
