Partnership with Retail Strategies

Retail Strategies ProcessThe City of Paducah entered into a three-year agreement in December 2020 with Retail Strategies to provide retail economic development recruitment services, data, and training.  Retail Strategies is working with City staff to strategically recruit retailers to Paducah. This project is citywide.

Their mission is to provide the real estate expertise, tools in market analysis, and human effort that position towns like Paducah as alluring locations for national businesses.  We want to bring in new business, add new jobs to the local economy, and increase local tax revenue.

Supporting Paducah's Economic Development Efforts

Research and Analytics. In addition to demographic, lifestyle, and retail industry trends, market trade areas will be identified and evaluated, GAP and competition analysis performed, and future market growth and needs examined.

Boots on the Ground Analysis. Retail Strategies sends a team to Paducah to catalog our assets from an outsider’s perspective.

Retail Recruitment. Retail Strategies will provide recruitment services and engage a minimum of 30 retail prospects. Retail Strategies also attends International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and real estate trade shows across the country to showcase opportunities in Paducah.


Ongoing Assessment

Throughout the three-year partnership, Retail Strategies will analyze our existing real estate market and assess opportunities for new retail growth. 

2021 Actions

  • Retail Strategies sent a market survey to local economic development leaders and commercial development stakeholders to better understand market opportunities, real estate assets, and economic development goals. 
  • Retail Strategies has created a strategic retail recruitment plan for attracting new business to Paducah.
  • Retail Strategies will work with City leaders to identify goals for growing our retail and hospitality industries.
