David Guess is serving his third term as City Commissioner. He served from January 2003 through December 2006 and was elected to his third term in November 2020.
As a lifelong resident of Paducah, a 1982 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, small business owner and property investor, Commissioner Guess and his wife Sandra Johnson Guess, a physician assistant, have been invested in Paducah with residential and commercial rental properties for approximately 30 years. He is the president, owner/operator of David Guess Heating and Air since 1992, the president and co-owner of Hipp Property Group, and the owner of the Clearview Contacts website, www.clearviewcontacts.com, since 2012.
Commissioner Guess graduated from Murray State University in 1987 with a Bachelors in Business Administration and minor in biology.
In serving as City Commissioner, he serves on the Brooks Stadium Commission and Commissioners of Water Works.

The official inauguration ceremony for the Paducah Board of Commissioners was held December 28, 2020, at City Hall. McCracken County District Judge David Reed (retired) officiated Commissioner Guess' oath of office.
