The annual City of Paducah Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 1 in downtown Paducah. The parade begins at 5 p.m. at 14th and Broadway and travels down Broadway to 2nd Street. The parade will then turn left on 2nd Street and continue to Monroe Street where it will disband. Parade participants are encouraged to continue moving on 2nd Street toward the Farmers’ Market pavilion to maintain the flow of the parade.
The theme for the 2018 Christmas Parade is A Comic Book Christmas with music and lighting required on each of the parade’s approximately 100 entries. The judging for the parade entries will be at 4 p.m. on December 1. Santa Claus will make a special appearance at the end of the parade on the official Santa float and will be available for photos after the parade at the downtown gazebo.

Parade entries will marshal on Broadway between 14th and Fountain Avenue, on Fountain Avenue between Broadway and Monroe, and on Jefferson between 14th and Fountain Avenue. Streets will be closed in the staging area beginning at 2:30 p.m. on December 1. Streets along the parade route will close at 3:30 p.m. in preparation for the parade. The Parks & Recreation Department also asks the public to refrain from parking in the parade preparation area from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to help limit the congestion of vehicles and floats.
