Celebration for Launch of Customer Experience Department and New Day Initiatives Set for Friday, June 28

new day initiative logoEveryone is invited to attend a networking event to celebrate the launch of the Customer Experience Department and the New Day Initiatives.  The event will be Friday, June 28 starting at 2:30 p.m. at City Hall. After a brief presentation at 2:45 p.m. explaining the development of the Customer Experience Department and the New Day Initiatives, everyone is encouraged to enjoy an afternoon at City Hall with ice cream, music, mini golf, and giveaway prizes.

City Manager Jim Arndt says, “We are working to revolutionize the relationships between Paducah’s government and its residents, contractors, and business owners.  It’s a new day in Paducah where we have put together a package of initiatives that will streamline processes and improve communications so that the expectations of our customers are not just met, they are exceeded.  We are placing customer experience at the forefront of our operations.”

City Clerk Lindsay Parish is the director of the Customer Experience Department.  Parish says, “This department is the result of months of work in reviewing our internal processes, specifically related to permitting and project initiation, with the goal of becoming more customer-friendly.  The vision of this department is customer-centric.  We will place citizens at the center of every decision by focusing on communication, consistency, and culture.”

At the celebration, we want everyone to make a point of meeting Parish and the Customer Experience Representatives: Debbie McGee, Donna Jackson, and Nelvin Cecil Howell.  The Representatives are existing employees who are being shifted to the Customer Experience Department.  These employees have a vast knowledge of the community and government processes in addition to an intense desire to communicate and coordinate so that projects are implemented smoothly.   

Some of the New Day Initiatives that will be explained at the celebration include

  • Kick-start pre-application meetings;
  • User’s guide for the permitting process;
  • Certificate of Occupancy celebrations; and
  • Implementation of permitting software.
