Date of release: May 9, 2018
The City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works Streets Division will be working on a drainage project on Friday, May 11. This project involves the removal of a broken drainage pipe and the restoration of the ditch adjacent to the property located at 4840 Buckner Lane. This location is in the sharp curve on Buckner Lane between Pines Road and Pecan Drive. This project is expected to be completed on Friday.
To safely facilitate the drainage project, Buckner Lane will be closed in both directions. Detours will be set up to steer traffic either to Exall Lane, Dove Lane, or Pines Road. Drivers are urged to find an alternate route and avoid this section of Buckner Lane. Please watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.
Once completed, this drainage project will greatly reduce the volume of storm water that covers portions of the road during heavy rain events. Reducing the storm water that ends up on the road also will help eliminate the gravel and aggregate material that ends up on Buckner Lane after a rainfall.
The City of Paducah maintains approximately 220 miles of streets. If you have a question, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at 270-444-8511.
