The free event will be Saturday, June 1 with registration starting at 9 a.m. at the Noble Park Lake, Shelter 10. The awards presentation starts at 11:30 a.m. Trophies will be given to the boy and girl who catch the longest fish. Children can use their own pole or if they are one of the first 50 participants registered, they can get a free cane pole. Participants are asked to bring their own bait.
Registration is available at the event starting at 9 a.m. or preregistration is offered online at www.paducahky.gov or at the Parks office at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive. In Kentucky, children under the age of 16 do not need a fishing license.
Participants are asked to abide by the following rules:
1. Have fun.
2. Be careful.
3. Helpers may help get the bait on the hook and take the fish off the hook; however, the children must do all other fishing on their own.
4. Once a fish is caught, please ask an event worker to measure the fish, and then release it.
5. Please release all fish after they are counted.
