A contractor for the City of Paducah will begin working tomorrow to add and improve sidewalks at Noble Park. This project is expected to take approximately one month, weather-permitting.
Harper Construction will construct sidewalks around Shelters 1 through 8 on the east side of Lake Montgomery. The contractor also will be replacing sections of the path around Lake Montgomery and adding new sidewalk sections. New sidewalks also will be added to the tennis court area.
Parks & Recreation Department Director Mark Thompson says, “In addition to the sidewalks, these shelters will be receiving concrete aprons. These additions will improve the accessibility and drainage around each shelter.”
To improve safety, crews also will move Shelter 8. Currently, Shelter 8 is located extremely close to the Boundless playground’s parking lot which leads to safety concerns due to traffic.
The roadways through Noble Park are expected to remain open during this sidewalk enhancement project. However, please use caution, and watch for the work crews and equipment.
