As we enter 2018, there are many great things happening at Paducah Parks & Recreation. Every day there are free activities to partake in such as walking or biking the Greenway Trail, taking the family to a playground, going disc golfing at Stuart Nelson Park, or taking pictures of the beautiful scenery along the Ohio River at Schultz Park. When you take advantage of any of these activities or one of the many great programs listed in this newsletter below, please share your experience on social media by using #alwayssomethingtodo or tagging Paducah Parks when posting.

Winter Newsletter

Paducah Recreation Center 

Located at 1527 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.  For more info on the facility and hours of operations visit the Paducah Recreation Center page.  You can now purchase your 2018 membership by visiting the PRC. Memberships cost $20 for either an individual or the entire family (a family consists of parent/guardians and their children), Classes and activities included in the $20 membership at no extra cost include Open Gym, Walking Club, Basketball Open Gym, Volleyball Open Gym, Futsal Open Gym, and more. Beginning January 1, 2018 members will have to purchase an additional $10 activity punch pass for 20 visits to Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Mat Yoga, Zumba, Mid-East Dance, Dance and Tone, and other select classes. You can also pay as you go at the rate of $1 for one class.

Starting January 1, 2018, all users must have a 2018 Membership, which expire on December 31, 2018. Check out the February Calendar and March Calendar to see what programs and activities are being offered this month!

Tiny Tot Soccer and PAYSA

Tiny Tot Soccer is a non-competitive league for children ages 3-5 to learn the basic fundamentals for playing soccer. Each week will consist of 15-30 minutes of practice followed by a scrimmage. PAYSA will be conducted by the Paducah Area Youth Soccer Association and the PTHS Coaching Staff where kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grade learn the basic fundamentals of playing soccer. Teams will meet one night per week for practice and will have games on Saturday. Each child will be placed on a team and will play other teams in their grade division.

Coaches will serve as game officials. T-Shirts and shin guards will be provided to all Tiny Tot and PAYSA players. Tennis shoes or cleats are both allowed but are not provided. Registration begins February 1 and the deadline is Friday, March 23, 2018 at 5 p.m. Tiny Tot Soccer is $25 and PAYSA is $30 per player. Game begin April 15, 2018 at the Jetton Soccer Fields. 

A Special Registration Day for youth sports will be on Saturday February 24th from 9:00am - 12:00pm at the Parks & Recreation Office located at 1400 HC Mathis Drive in Paducah.

Tee Ball and Rookie League

Paducah Parks and Recreation offers Youth Tee Ball and Rookie League for kids ages 5-9 in the community at an affordable price. The goals of this league is for youth to learn the basic skills of the sport, show improvement throughout the season, and have fun! The league is held at the Noble Park Fields. This is a great league for boys and girls who want to play baseball and softball as they get older. Players who sign up will be assigned teams and are provided a uniform for games. Coaches are volunteers so we ask all parents to consider helping to coach.

Registration begins February 1st and the deadline is Thursday March 15 at 5:00pm. It costs $40 for Tee Ball and $45 for Rookie League. Practices and are on Tuesday nights beginning April 17. Games begin May 12 and are on Saturday afternoons in May, Saturday mornings in June, with additional Tuesday night games later in the season.

A Special Registration Day for youth sports will be on Saturday February 24th from 9:00am - 12:00pm at the Parks & Recreation Office located at 1400 HC Mathis Drive in Paducah.

Farmers Market New Vendor Meeting

New vendors and returning vendors for the Paducah Homegrown Farmers' Market must register with the Paducah Parks & Recreation office at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive. To be considered for a booth, Paducah Parks and Recreation is inviting new vendors for the 2018 Paducah Homegrown Farmers’ Market to attend the mandatory vendor information meeting on Monday March 19 or Tuesday March 20 in the conference room of the Parks and Recreation office located at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive. At this meeting, information will be provided about the application process, hours of operation, and fees in addition to guidelines from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

Returning vendors and those who participated in the Holiday Market do not need to attend the new vendor meeting, however applications for returning Farmers’ Market vendors are due Friday March 16.

Easter Eggstravaganza

The Paducah Parks & Recreation Department’s Annual Easter Eggstravaganza is a race to pick up as many eggs as they can after the whistle blows. The free event will be Saturday, March 24 at Noble Park.  Registration begins at 9 a.m. in front of the pool house with the hunt at 9:45 a.m.  Bring your Easter baskets or a sack because there will be plenty of eggs to collect around Bob Noble Park. TThe entire family will be able to race to pick up the 15,000 candy-filled eggs.

Snow Sculpture Contest

The only requirements for the Snow Sculpture Contest are that the snow sculpture must be made from real snow that has fallen in our region between November 1, 2017 and March 30, 2018. Then, take a picture (include your name, the name of the sculpture you create, and your contact information) and send the picture to Paducah Parks and Recreation at 1400 HC Mathis Dr, Paducah, KY 42001 or email your picture with your information to  In addition, pictures can be posted via social media on Facebook and Instagram. On Facebook send Paducah Parks and Recreation a message with your picture and information, and on Instagram use the tag #paducahparks in your post and say it is for the Snow Sculpture Contest. The deadline to submit the picture and contact information is March 31 at 5 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 sculptures.
