Fall Newsletter

Paducah Recreation Center 

Located at 1527 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.  For more info on the facility and hours of operations visit the Paducah Recreation Center page.  You can now purchase your 2018 membership by visiting the PRC. Memberships cost $20 for either an individual or the entire family (a family consists of parent/guardians and their children), Classes and activities included in the $20 membership at no extra cost include Open Gym, Walking Club, Basketball Open Gym, Volleyball Open Gym, Futsal Open Gym, and more. Beginning January 1, 2018 members will have to purchase an additional $10 activity punch pass for 20 visits to Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Mat Yoga, Zumba, Mid-East Dance, Dance and Tone, and other select classes. You can also pay as you go at the rate of $1 for one class.

From December 7 to January 7 we will give one free Activity Punch Pass to all individuals who purchase their 2018 Paducah Recreation Center Membership.

Starting January 1, 2018 all users must have a 2018 Membership, which expire on December 31, 2018. Current 2017 Memberships expire on December 31, 2017. Check out the December Calendar to see what programs and activities are being offered this month!

Coed Wiffleball League

The Coed Wiffleball League is played on Monday nights beginning January 22 at the Paducah Recreation Center. The cost per team is $150 per team.  The deadline to register a team is Friday, January 12, 2018.

To participate, each player must be at least 14 years old.  Each team must have at least 2 females on the court at all times (see rules for exceptions). Each team will consist of a minimum of 7 people.

Tot School

Tot School is a preschool program for 3 to 5 year olds organized by the Paducah Parks & Recreation and taught by instructor Kathy Reese.  Tot School helps prepare children for kindergarten through developmentally stimulating activities that enhance a child's learning and growth. Tot School meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the classroom on the second floor of the Paducah Parks Services office located at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive. Program costs are $110 per month and are due at the first of each month. The second semester of Tot School begins January 8, 2017 and spots are still available. It runs through May 16.

Hot Shot Basketball Contest

Paducah Parks & Recreation is presenting the first ever Hot Shot Basketball Contest on Saturday January 27th at the Paducah Recreation Center located at 1400 HC Mathis Drive in Paducah. Boys and girls ages 9-14 who play basketball are invited to play in this fun FREE contest where participants will have three one-minute time periods to shoot from five different marks on the court. Scores will be totaled from each of the three time periods. Awards will be given out for 1st and 2nd place in these age groups: Boys 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and Girls 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. The Boys will start at 12:00pm with Girls following at 1:30pm. Participants must register at the Paducah Recreation Center 15 minutes before their start time. Basketballs will be provided. There is no charge to participate.

Snow Sculpture Contest

The only requirements for the Snow Sclupture Contest are that the snow sculpture must be made from real snow that has fallen in our region between November 1, 2017 and March 30, 2018. Then, take a picture (include your name, the name of the sculpture you create, and your contact information) and send the picture to Paducah Parks and Recreation at 1400 HC Mathis Dr, Paducah, KY 42001 or email your picture with your information to  In addition, pictures can be posted via social media on Facebook and Instagram. On Facebook send Paducah Parks and Recreation a message with your picture and information, and on Instagram use the tag #paducahparks in your post and say it is for the Snow Sculpture Contest. The deadline to submit the picture and contact information is March 31 at 5 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 sculptures.

I Heart Presidents Day

Paducah Parks and Recreation and the Paducah Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution are happy to announce the third annual I Heart Presidents Day for kids and families! It will be on Saturday February 10, 2018 at the Robert Cherry Civic Center from 10 am - 1pm and the entire event is FREE. Come join us for a fun day of presidential themed activities to celebrate Presidents Day. Kids of all ages will make arts & crafts, learn about different presidents, early American culture, and what life is like living in the White House. There will be FREE snacks and gift bags for participants (while supplies last).
