2026 Curbside Recycling and Garbage Collection Calendar

Garbage and Curbside Recycling Collection Schedule for 2026 New Year's

City Hall and city offices will be closed on the following dates: December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026. The holiday closures will result in several schedule adjustments for the Public Works Department. Residents are reminded to place garbage rollout containers at their designated collection points no later than 4 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day. If collection crews experience delays, please leave your rollouts at the collection point until they have been serviced. For questions, contact the Public Works Department at 270-444-8511.

New Year’s Holidays

  • No residential garbage or curbside recycling collection on Wednesday, December 31 and Thursday, January 1.
  • Wednesday routes will be collected Friday, January 2.
  • Thursday routes will be collected Saturday, January 3.
  • Friday routes will be collected Monday, January 5.

Compost Facility

The Compost Facility, located at 1560 North 8th Street, will be closed to the public on December 31 and January 1.

Live Christmas Tree Recycling

Residents wishing to dispose of live Christmas trees may place trees curbside (not in the alleys) with all lights, garland, ornaments, and the tree stand/base removed for collection by Public Works crews during their routine brush and yard waste collection. Trees may also be dropped off at the Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street during regular operating hours.
