Camps

School’s Out Day Camps

Enjoy fun days with the Recreation staff that involve learning programs, arts and crafts, sports, and adventures.  These camps are for students ages five through 12.  Those who are five years of age must be currently enrolled in kindergarten. Participants should dress in comfortable clothes and sneakers and bring their own lunch, snack, and water bottle. 

Location: Paducah Recreation Center (1527 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive)

Dates and Time: 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on April 3, 4, and 5

Cost: $20 per camp day

Registration: Registration for each School’s Out Day Camp day will open two weeks prior to each date.  Register by calling 270-444-8508 or visiting Registration.  Space is limited.

Classes

Parks & Recreation offers many camps for youngsters and classes for adults throughout the year for people of all ages to stay active and fit and learn unique dances. Classes are offered at the Paducah Recreation Center and the Paducah Parks & Recreation office.

Paducah Recreation Center Membership - There are multiple membership options to participate in classes at the Paducah Recreation Center located at 1527 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Individual Memberships range from $25 - $65 (tax included). Family Members are available for up to four household members. Family memberships range from $35 - $95 (tax included). All memberships are valid for 365 days.  Visit Paducah Recreation Center for the monthly activities calendar and membership details.

Booty Jam
  • Wednesdays: 5:15 - 6:15 pm
  • Instructor: Bonnie Mayolo
  • A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. And the best part is you don't have to be an awesome dancer to feel welcome in class. We dance to get fit and have fun so come join us!
Chair Yoga
  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 12:15 - 1 pm
  • Instructor: Suzi Renaud
  • Yoga goes to the chair with stretches that align, strengthen, and promote flexibility and strength. Standing postures are incorporated while using the chair for support. Emphasis is placed on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. We will take the body through various range of movements and end with breathing exercises and a short meditation. All ability levels.
Fusion Fitness
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10:15 - 11 am
  • Instructor: Suzi Renaud
  • Fusion workouts that blend a variety of disciplines like yoga, pilates, boot camp, and cardio for strength, balance, stability, agility, and endurance making your workouts more functional.
Mat Yoga
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 11:15 am - 12 pm 
  • Instructor: Suzi Renaud
  • Step by step instruction of Hatha Yoga for all levels. Postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility and strength. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. We make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, forward folds, and hip openers. All ability levels.
Mello Mat Yoga
  • Fridays: 1:15 - 2 pm
  • Instructor: Alison Watson
  • Mello Mat Yoga includes gentle hatha yoga poses and some restorative yin poses. Beginners and long-time yogis alike will enjoy this class for deep stretches and gentle exercise to loosen joints and tight muscles as well as restore balance to the mind and body. Easy breath work and guided meditation are incorporated into each class. Bring a mat or use provided at the class.
Mid-East Dance
  • Thursdays: 5:15 - 6:15 pm
  • Instructor: Beverly Dubuque
  • Mid-East Dance or "Belly Dancing" is a wonderful form of exercise and expression that teaches poise and grace.
Relax and Restore Yoga
  • Mondays: 5:30-6:15pm 
  • Instructor: Alison Watson
  • New evening yoga class for all ability levels.
SharQui

 

  • Tuesdays 5:30-6:15pm and Thursdays: 6:15-7:15 pm
  • Instructor: Jennifer McCann
  • Want a really fun workout? How about joint-friendly, serious cardio? SharQui ups the ante with nonstop core engagement. SharQui is a belly dance based aerobic class. Everyone is welcome!
Tai Chi/Yoga Fusion
  • Wednesdays: 12:15 - 1 pm
  • Instructor: Suzi Renaud
  • Connect with your inner power and peace with a Tai Chi Yoga Fusion class. This slow flow practice combines yoga with the gentle fluid movements of tai chi and qi gong on and off the mat. Class ends with seated meditation. Beginners are welcome. Participants should be comfortable coming down to and up from the floor. Bring a mat. 
Weigh 2 Health & Wellness
  • Fridays 9 – 10 am,
  • March 10-April 21 (class does not meet on April 7)
  • Instructor: Karen Smith, Nurse Practitioner
  • Do you want to Lose Weight, Feel Great and Strengthen your Mind and Body? The Weigh 2 Health and Wellness Program will allow you to partner with a healthcare provider, exercise specialist and dietician to lose weight, prevent/manage medical conditions, and evaluation for weight loss medication. The program consists of six classes all at the Paducah Recreation Center and costs $169 + tax. The first 10 to register received 10% off. Participants do not need a Paducah Recreation Center membership to register.

Esports

Paducah Parks & Recreation hosts esports rec leagues for all ages to play. Contact Recreation Specialist James Weems or 270-444-8538 for more information.

Join the League - Download the free Mission Control GG app and join Paducah Parks & Recreation to follow the esports program. There are four games offered each season. Chat and compete with league mates, view the schedule on the app, and check standings each season. 

2023 Esports - Games began January 9, 2023. Winners receive a gift card.
