Bass Pro Shops Paducah renderingBass Pro Shops announced plans today for a new destination retail location in Paducah. This new store will be located at 3470 James Sanders Boulevard.

“Today’s announcement by Bass Pro Shops marks an exciting milestone for Paducah and the region,” said Mayor George Bray. “The construction of this new location represents more than the opening of a retail store. Because Bass Pro Shops designs each location to reflect its surroundings, this project will create a true destination—one that draws families, outdoor enthusiasts, and visitors from not only the region but also the entire United States. This store will be a place not only to shop, but to gather, explore, and experience the outdoor lifestyle that is such an important part of our community. We are incredibly proud to welcome Bass Pro Shops to Paducah and to see our city continue to grow as a regional destination.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Bass Pro Shops to Paducah as the first location in Kentucky to be built from the ground up,” said City Manager Daron Jordan. “This milestone would not have been possible without the vision and commitment of the Kentucky Oaks Mall Company team, including Co-President Anthony Cafaro, Jr., as well as the leadership of Johnny Morris and the entire Bass Pro team. Their confidence in Paducah speaks volumes about our community’s strength and bright future.”

In a news release from the company, Johnny Morris, legendary angler, noted conservationist, and Bass Pro Shops founder, said, “We are proud and excited to be able to serve the great outdoor enthusiasts in the Paducah region and the entire Bluegrass State. We have a great deal of passion for this entire region and all the outdoor recreation options it offers and are looking forward to helping families and friends get outside and make happy memories together in the great outdoors.”

This 70,000-square-foot Bass Pro Shops will be constructed on an approximately 8-acre parcel, adjacent to Kentucky Oaks Mall on the east side of James Sanders Boulevard. This site offers excellent visibility from Interstate-24 and is surrounded by retail and dining establishments. The estimated project cost is $25 million.

Like all Bass Pro Shops locations, this new store will feature a unique custom design that combines retail with entertainment, outdoor education, and conservation. Site preparation already is underway, including the demolition of a vacant building. The company said the goal is to open the facility in late 2026 or early 2027.

Bass Pro Shops, a conservation-focused destination retailer for outdoor enthusiasts, was founded in 1972 in Springfield, Missouri. The company has 180 locations throughout North America. The nearest Bass Pro Shops location to Paducah is in Nashville, Tennessee.
