In observance of the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays, City Hall and city offices will be closed on the following dates: December 24, 25, and 31, and January 1.
The holidays lead to several Public Works Department schedule changes. As a reminder, please place your garbage rollout container at its designated collection point no later than 4 a.m. on the scheduled day of pickup. If you have a question, contact the Public Works Department at 270-444-8511.

Garbage Collection Christmas Holidays: There will be NO residential garbage collection on Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25. Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected on Thursday, December 26. Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Friday, December 27.

Garbage Collection New Year’s Holidays: There will be NO residential garbage collection on Tuesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 1. Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected Thursday, January 2. Thursday and Friday routes will be collected Friday, January 3.

Compost Facility: The Compost Facility located at 1560 North 8th Street will be closed to the public until further notice beginning Monday, December 23. This closure is due to the routine grinding of brush.

Live Christmas Tree Recycling: To dispose of a live Christmas tree, residents can call the Public Works Department to request the tree to be collected by City crews. Please place the tree at your normal garbage collection location and remove all lights, garland, and ornaments.
