The City of Paducah Engineering Department has two road improvement projects next week that will affect traffic flow.
Pecan Drive Bridges - On Tuesday, December 5, the contractor working for the City of Paducah, Jim Smith Contracting will mill and pave the bridge ends on Pecan Drive. One bridge is over Perkins Creek while the other is over Crooked Creek. These bridges are east of the Pecan Drive intersection with James Sanders Boulevard. This project will result in a smoother roadway where the road transitions to the bridge surface.
The work is expected to be completed on Tuesday. Please use caution around the work crews, and expect lane shifts to complete the work.
Coleman Road – On Wednesday, December 6, crews will begin milling and paving Coleman Road from Hinkleville Road (U.S. 60) to the bridge immediately before Mike Smith Drive. This section of roadway is less than two tenths of a mile.
Weather permitting, the road rehabilitation project will be completed by the end of the week. Traffic will remain open during the project; however, watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.
The City of Paducah maintains more than 220 miles of streets.
