Opening day for the Paducah Chiefs Baseball Club’s 2026 season is at the end of May, but preparations already are underway to provide housing for the players. The college wood-bat team plays at Brooks Stadium in Paducah during the summer, and the players rely on the generosity of local families to host them for the season.
“Host families play such an important role in the experience of our players who come to Paducah for the summer,” said General Manager Greg McKeel. “They provide a sense of stability and support while these young athletes are away from home. Even though it’s only for about two months, many of these relationships last for years and truly become like extended family. Hosting one of these talented players was a rewarding experience for me. I invite others to be part of this special tradition and our hometown story.”
Families who would like to learn more about being a host family for a Paducah Chiefs player can contact McKeel at 270-210-9766 or Paducah Chiefs email. Those interested also may contact Assistant General Managers Tab Brockman at 270-293-3030 or Greg Cannon at 270-331-2813.
The first home game of the 2026 season will be Friday, May 29 at Brooks Stadium.
