Marinas.com has announced that the City of Paducah’s Transient Boat Dock is a recipient of the 2025 Boaters’ Choice Award, marking the ninth consecutive year the City has received this national recognition. The award celebrates marinas and docks that consistently deliver excellent service and hospitality to the boating community, as reflected through positive reviews and ratings from boaters.
The Boaters’ Choice Award is determined by verified reviews submitted by boaters on Marinas.com. During 2025, Paducah’s Transient Boat Dock received 33 reviews with an average rating of four or more stars out of five, continuing its strong record of excellence and customer satisfaction.
“It’s a true honor to receive Paducah’s ninth consecutive Boaters’ Choice Award as it was earned through feedback from boaters on our inland waterways, who are sometimes referred to as Loopers,” said Mayor George Bray. “This award points to two key strengths: the dedication of our Parks and Recreation Department in supporting boaters and making them feel welcome and the vitality of Paducah’s downtown. As we move forward with exciting riverfront enhancements that will be completed next year—including the new pier for larger riverboats and expanded park space near the transient dock—I am confident that Paducah will continue to honor its deep connection to the Ohio River and remain a premier destination for boaters and tourists alike.”
“We’re always excited to welcome boaters to our river town and provide them with quality services during their visits,” said Director of Parks & Recreation Amie Clark. “Our goal is to create a positive experience that keeps visitors returning year after year. The Parks & Recreation Department values the feedback we receive from boaters, and we look for ways to enhance our facilities and ensure Paducah remains a great place to stop and explore. With efforts to continually improve our parks and spaces, we look forward to welcoming returning boaters and new boaters to enjoy our riverfront parks, our vibrant downtown, and our city.”
Below are a few of the five-star reviews posted by boaters who enjoyed Paducah’s amenities in 2025.
- Encountered very friendly people working on the dock and in town. Very clean nice docking area.
- Relatively new, well maintained floating docks. Adjacent to large waterfront park and revitalized restaurant / business district. Reasonably priced.
- Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Paducah transient dock. The Dock Attendant and staff at the Parks department were terrific and the town was very welcoming.
- Excellent Docks. New, with easy access to power and water. Good deep water even when Ohio is lower. Very close to a historical part of Paducah with good restaurants and shops. Very good place to stop for a few days.
- We loved this place. After three nights of long travel and anchorages, it was great to tie up to a quiet rock and have access to electricity and water (pump out was inop). The dock is in excellent shape and all power pedestals had both 50 and 30-amp hookups. No bathrooms or showers. Minimal wakes. The dock is a 5 min walk into the very cute town with a wide selection of excellent restaurants, shops and bars. We would have stayed an extra night but needed to keep moving.
- Excellent docks and close to town.
- Great facility. Easy walk to downtown features. Beautiful town. Grocery and package stores require motorized transport.
In 2025, Paducah's Dock had 388 reservations with boaters spending a total of 569 nights.
Paducah’s 340-foot long boat dock is located downstream from the heart of historic downtown Paducah, offering convenient access for boaters to enjoy the city’s shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions by spending a few hours or several nights. Amenities include fuel (diesel and marine grade gasoline) and power pedestals.
