Temporary Closure of Noble Park Tennis Courts for Resurfacing

Date of Release:
July 12, 2024

On Monday, July 15, crews with Tennis Technologies will begin resurfacing the Noble Park Tennis Courts. This project includes resurfacing the five full-size courts and the two junior courts.

This work is expected to take 10 days depending upon the weather. Crews will first address any cracks and then install a new playing surface. The colors will mirror the current playing surface colors of blue and green.

During the project, most of the parking area adjacent to the courts will be available for the public’s use. However, crews will use a few spaces for the staging of equipment and their vehicles.

The Paducah Parks & Recreation Department worked with the Paducah Tennis Association to relocate tennis programs that would be affected by the temporary closure.

Director of Parks & Recreation Amie Clark said, “We have great partners in the community with the Paducah Tennis Association and St. Mary School System, which bring recreational and competition play to the courts consistently throughout the year. We are excited to be able to provide a needed update to the playing surface and continue our efforts to attract players from all over the region to come play tennis in Noble Park.”

The Noble Park Tennis Courts were last resurfaced in 2017-2018.
