On the latest episode of Crossroads for Growth, Mayor George Bray talks with McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer. Mayor Bray is entering his second term as Mayor while Judge Executive Clymer is entering his seventh year as McCracken County’s leader.
Mayor George Bray said, “I have worked with Judge Clymer since being elected in 2020, always with the betterment of the community in mind. Our government structures are different; but we both have community success as our goal. That goal is to grow our community, both the City and County, and to make sure that we each leave a legacy of economic development and quality of life projects that positively affect our constituents. I took this time to talk with Judge Clymer so that the community can see firsthand how we work together and our mutual desire to move Paducah and McCracken County forward.”
Judge Executive Craig Clymer said, “The Mayor and I talk with each other several times a week through our involvement on various boards. It’s just essential that we have a good relationship. What I like about our relationship is that we have an understanding that we can speak our piece. I might have something to say that you might not like to hear and vice versa, but we need to be candid and forthright with each other. If we have disagreements or whatever, we work through those, and that makes a strong partnership.”
In this nearly 47-minute episode, Mayor Bray and Judge Clymer talk candidly about a variety of topics. Discussion topics include the following:
- 911 Upgrade Project
- Economic Development
- Metropolitan Planning Organization
- Nuclear-related Business Development
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Paducah Sports Park
- Comprehensive Plan
- Barkley Regional Airport
- Future Growth of Paducah-McCracken County
