Invitation to Serve on City Boards and Commissions

Date of Release:
January 23, 2025

The City of Paducah benefits from the engagement, recommendations, and guidance from approximately three dozen boards and commissions. These boards consist of individuals who dedicate their time and energy to serving their community.

The Mayor and City Commissioners make the appointments to these boards with several of the boards in partnership with McCracken County. Some of the joint boards with the County include Barkley Regional Airport Authority, Paducah-McCracken County 911 Board, Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center Corporation, and Paducah-McCracken County Industrial Development Authority (IDA).

In addition to the joint boards, there are numerous boards to help guide the City including Paducah Human Rights Commission, Paducah Civic Beautification Board, and Forest Hills Village, Inc.

Mayor George Bray said, “The experience and dedication of these board members is critical in moving Paducah and McCracken County forward. The Paducah Board of Commissioners and the McCracken County Fiscal Court rely on board members to make recommendations, engage with the community, and work to fulfill the mission and vision of their boards. Each board member is invaluable, and to make the most impact, I look to find individuals with the right combination of interests and skillsets on any given board. I have a passion to put together a great board, and I encourage people to consider serving our city. As a board member you can help shape our community.”

The application along with an overview of the boards is available on the City’s website at Boards and Commissions. Completed applications can be submitted to Assistant City Clerk Claudia Meeks.

If you have questions, contact Meeks by email or by calling 270-444-8507. Also, Mayor Bray invites anyone who would like more information to reach out to him to ask questions and learn more about opportunities.
