Public Meetings for Community Development Block Grant Consolidated Plan

Date of Release:
June 30, 2025

The City of Paducah is providing two community meeting opportunities for the public to provide comments and input related to the development of a five-year Consolidated Plan. This plan is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for communities in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program.

Paducah is becoming an entitlement community due to the growth in population of our local Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The process to develop a Consolidated Plan serves as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to identify housing, community development, and social services needs.

The two public meeting options are as follows:

  • Friday, July 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the McCracken County Public Library, 555 Washington Street where lunch will be served.
  • Monday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 300 South 5th Street.

The Entitlement Community Program provides annual grants on a formula basis to entitled cities and counties. These CDBG funds may be used for various activities including acquisition of real property, relocation and demolition, rehabilitation of residential and non-residential structures, construction of public facilities and improvements, public services, activities related to energy conservation and renewable energy, and assistance to businesses. Through the designation as an entitlement community, the City of Paducah will be eligible to receive direct CDBG funds without the need to make an application and compete with other KY communities for funds.

After July’s public input period, the draft Consolidated Plan will be presented to the Paducah Board of Commissioners in August and then submitted to HUD.

Additional information about this program can be found at CDBG Entitlement Community.
