Paducah G.E.M – Going the Extra Mile Awards

The Paducah G.E.M. awards are for employees to recognize fellow employees for “going the extra mile” at work. Employees who are nominated should go above and beyond in their daily work duties to make a significant impact to the organization and/or the community as a public servant while wholeheartedly embracing one or more of the City of Paducah’s Organizational Values (action-oriented, customer experience, every person matters, fiscal responsibility, personal accountability, and solution-driven).

If you work with a city employee who wholeheartedly embraces the City’s organizational values and goes the extra mile, nominate them to be a Paducah G.E.M.

NOTE: Before nominating an employee, please make sure the employee has been with the City for at least 12 months.

Guidelines

You must be a city employee to submit a nomination.
You can nominate city employees from any department. They don’t have to work in your department.
Employees who are nominated must be employed by the City of Paducah a minimum of 12 months.
You can nominate more than one person, but you CANNOT nominate yourself.
You CANNOT nominate someone who has received this award or the LOVE (Living Our Values Every Day) Award in the past three (3) years. (see chart below)
Deadline to submit nominations is the end of the day on Friday, October 17, 2025.
Use the ONLINE NOMINATION FORM or use this NOMINATION FORM - FILLABLE PDF and either email it to Communications Manager Pam Spencer or drop it off at either the City Manager’s office or the Customer Experience Department at City Hall.
A committee of previous Paducah G.E.M and LOVE award recipients will review and score the nominations. The review process includes the Human Resources Department and individual department directors with the City Manager’s office providing final approval.
Nominees with the highest average score will be selected for a Paducah G.E.M award.
The annual number of Paducah G.E.M. awards may vary.
The Paducah G.E.M. award winners will be recognized at either a City Commission Meeting or a city-organized function (employee luncheon, Christmas event, etc.). Items of recognition may include a plaque, gift card, and/or awarding personal days.
