The Building, Electrical, and Fire Codes Appeals Board is established by Paducah Code of Ordinances Sec. 18-123. The purpose is to hear appeals of the decisions of the Paducah Fire Prevention Division’s inspectors.

The Code Enforcement section of the Fire Prevention Division enforces all applicable laws, rules, and regulations in order to provide a healthy, clean, and pleasant environment for the citizens of Paducah. Code Enforcement is housed on the first floor of City Hall (300 South 5th Street).

The Fire Prevention Division of the Paducah Fire Department plays an essential role in facilitating construction which results in accelerating and expanding economic growth, creating more jobs, and generating more revenue for businesses and tax revenue for the city government.
Firefighter for a Day is a free one-day class for those at least 18 years of age taught by members of the Paducah Fire Department.
The Paducah Fire Department and IAFF Local 168 are ambassadors for Operation Warm. Operation Warm is a national program founded in 2002 that provides American-made coats to children in need. The program helps more than 300,000 children each year.
The FREE 2025 Annual Combined Conference for Fire Service, Electrical, and Building Professionals will be October 2 and 3 at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. This conference which is organized by the Paducah Fire Prevention Division typically attracts more than 300 participants. This will be the 13th annual conference.
Topics at the conference include building code, electrical code, fire alarm code, sprinkler code, plumbing/HVAC codes, arson, and NFPA.
